Fire Safety for Preschoolers: Play Safe, Be Safe!

Fire Safety for Preschoolers: Play Safe, Be Safe!

One of the responsibilities given to a preschool in Louisiana is keeping the children safe. The younger they are, the more in need they are of guidance and instruction, especially when it comes to fire safety.

Follow these suggestions provided by Fireproof Children and BIC Corporation for preschool fire safety.

  • Contact your local fire station and arrange a tour for your daycare in Youngsville, Louisiana so they can learn about the different equipment and familiarize themselves with what firefighters look like and what they do.
  • Inform children that some fires make lots of smoke, which is dangerous to breathe in, so they have to crawl low under the smoke in the event of a fire.
  • If children’s clothes catch fire, stop, drop, and roll! Ask your kids to practice this with you a few times. Have them take turns in doing the activity.
  • Emphasize to your kids that matches, lighters, and other flammable materials are for adults and they should not play around with these.

Creative Minds Preschool of Youngsville prioritizes giving our customers the best early childhood education. For more information about our services and other activities, you may contact our office here.
